Churachandpur, Feb 18 : The Churachandpur District Students` Union, CDSU, in a press release today said it had temporarily suspended its proposed agitation over the ureasonable transfer of the district superintendent of police, Thanghaulian Gangte soon after he assumed charge recently.
The release while demanding reinstatement of the SP after the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, said in case the promise is not kept, an intensified agitation would be launched.
Thanghaulian has been assigned responsibility as CO of the 2nd MR by an order of the government.
He is a very young IPS officer, energetic enough to handle the task assigned to him and has worked as an SDPO of Churachandpur police, Bishnupur and a personal security officer to the Governor of the state earlier in his capacity as an IPS officer.
