Imphal, February 16 : The proscribed KCP has clarified that the youth lynched by the public Wabagai Tera Urakta on February 9 as well as the other youth who was beaten up by the locals in connection with a monetary demand are/were not members of the outfit.
In a statement, H Poirei, information and publicity secretary of the KCP said that what the public did was to rise against impostors who have been misusing the name of the outfit.
The deceased M Premchand alias Swamikumar (20) of Arong Khunou Awang Leikai and the injured M Inao (22) of Yairipok and presently staying at Keirak Tomal Makhong are not related in any way to the KCP, said the statement.
The outfit also assured that in case any cadre of the KCP is found collecting money in the name of the outfit for personal reasons then they would be dealt with sternly.
