Manipur dominates 23rd NE Games day two with 11 gold

Imphal, Feb 6 : Manipur won 11 gold medals and six silvers and six bronze medals as the 23rd North East Games which is being held at different places of Tripura.

Manipur won six gold in judo, two gold each in Weightlifting and Athletic events and one gold in Swimming.

Besides, Manipur won two silver in Weightlifting, two in athletic events and one each in judo and swimming.

Players of the state also won one bronze each in men's badminton, men's table tennis, swimming and three bronze in athletic events.

L Mahesh won gold in 200 m men's breaststroke swimming event.

L Sandhyarani won silvers medal in women's 200 m breast stroke swimming.

L Bankim won bronze in men's 400 m freestyle event.

Ch Herojit won gold in men's open judo.

Echal won gold in women's 57 kg and below judo.

T Amarjit won gold in men's 81 kg category of judo.

The other three gold won in judo events are won by Th Arun in 66 kg, Kh Ajit in 73 kg and H Sanamacha in 63 kg.

Kh Rashitombi won bronze in women's open judo event.

In weightlifting, Th Oken won gold in 62 kg category while L Nike won gold in the 69 kg category.

The two silvers were won by L Roskumar in 69 kg and Kh Bidyapati in 53 kg categories.

Men's badminton team won bronze medal today.

The players are RK Chinir, W James, L Momo and H Kishan.

Men's table tennis team which consists of L Ranjan, Ch Nongshaba, N Netra and Th Deepak also won bronze today.

A Surbala won gold in women's 100 m racing event while Samananda won gold in men's 500 m racing event.

The two silver medals of athletic events were won by Amardeep Roy in high jump and Premjit in 500 m racing event.

Himat Singh, Hemanta and Ashma Bhanu won bronze medals in shot put, men's 800 m race and women's 100 m racing events.

In the women's football match played between Manipur and Nagaland today, Manipur beat Nagaland 7-0 in an easy-to-win match.

The match was played dominantly by the plaers of Manipur from the very beginning of the match.

At many moments players of Manipur tried many goal attempts against Nagaland.

At first Manipur players found it hard to tackle the players of Nagaland.

But as the match progress players of Manipur were able to follow the tactics played by the players of Nagaland and treid at their best level to dominate Nagaland.

As the players of Manipur played the match with a total new tactics Nagaland's players could not follow the tactics of Manipur and found it hard to defend themselves against the various goal attempts of Manipur.

The first goal of the match was scored by O Rashi of Manipur in the 18th minute of the match.

After the goal it was hard for the players of Manipur to score more goal against Nagaland as the players of Nagalnd treid at their best level to defend themsleves.

But the hard efforts of the players of Manipur did not went into vain.

As a result of their hard efforts H Bijaya of Manipur scored her team's second goal against Nagaland in the 44th minute of the match.

In the second half players of Manipur played the match more substantially than before.

Nagaland's players foud it hard to defend themselves.

In the 50th minute A Sakhitombi of Manipur scored one goal against Nagaland.

G Radharani scored her team's fourth goal in the 55th minute.

E Bidyarani and Th Monika also scored one goal each in the 75th and 78th minute of the match adding two more goal in their team's goal account.

The last goal of the match was scored by the first scorer of the match.

It was Rashi of Manipur.

In men's football match played today between Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur beat Arunachal Pradesh 6-1.But no detail reports were recieved about the match yet.

In men's hockey match played today, Manipur and Mizoram shared a drawn match with score position 3-3 for both teams.

The three goals of Manipur were scored by P Adeva and Kh Kothajit in the 2nd, 41st and 37th minute of the match.

Adeva scored two goals while Kothajit scored one goal against Mizoram.

Manipur will fight host Tripura in the next match of men's hockey tommorrow at 8 am in the morning.
