IMPHAL, May 4 – S Hemant, Editor of Eikhoigi Panthung, a monthly vernacular, has been re-elected as president of All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU), the apex body of the jounalists community in the State.
In its election held at the premises of the Manipur Press Club on Friday, Hemant defeated his rival candidate Ratan Luwangcha, Editor of Hueiyen Lanpao, a popular veracular daily.
Asem Bhakta, a photo journalist, Bijoy Laishram of Matamgi Yakairol, a vernacular, Brown Nongmaithem of Sunday Indian, Wangkhemcha Dhamendro of Kangleipakki Meira, an eveninger, Yambem Henary of Poknapham, Nongmaithem Jonish, photo journalist and Naoroibam Phillip of ISTV were also elected standing committee members.
