Imphal, Jan 7 : H. Puja Devi entered the quarter finals of the under-14 Winter Clay Court Tennis Tournament at the Imphal District Tennis Association, Lamphelpat court here on Tuesday. Puja defeated Leo Singh 7-1.

In the other matches of the day, T. Vishal ousted W. Yawol 7-3, Ajay Singh got the better of Brandon Singh 7-3, W. Prabhakaran defeated P. Chui 7-5, Ksh. Linthoi humbled K. Olivia 7-3 and Thoihenba Singh defeated Monika Devi 7-4 to move into the quarters.

Aquatics
Imphal, Jan 7 : Manipur bagged four medals, including two gold, in the 54th National School Games (aquatics) held at Pune under the aegis of School Games Federation of India. L. Mahesh Singh bagged the gold in the under-14 boys’ 50-metre breaststroke, while W. Shamu Singh won another gold in the under-17 boys’ 50 metre breaststroke.

Tejkumar Singh bagged a bronze in the under-17 boys’ 50-metre breaststroke and in the under-17 boys’ springboard diving, L. Johnson fetched a silver with 308 points.

Athletics team
Imphal: Altogether 28 athletes have been named by the Athletics Association of Manipur to represent the state in the 34th North East Games scheduled to be held in Agartala from February 4 to 7.
