Imphal, Jan 9 : IN CONTINUATION of their goodwill gesture and an endeavour to accelerate peace and harmony in Churachandpur district, 27 SectorAssam Rifles under the aegis of Head Quarter 57 Mountain Division organised another national integration tour which was flagged off yesterday at 7.30 am from Tuibong in the district.
A press release issued by the PIB (Defence Wing) today stated that 14 boys and 10 girls along with three teachers are participating in the 10 day-tour.
They are scheduled to visit places of importance in Guwahati and Kolkata where they will intereact with students from schools of those places.
Today's flag off ceremony was attended by parents, students from 12 schools of the district, officials from district administration, DEO, ZEO, students bodies, school principlas and some local elders, stated the press release.
Describing the enthusiasm of the students participating in the tour as so great that it had to be seen to be believed, the PIB (Defence Wing) affirmed that the children will get a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, see new places and learn about the rich cultural diversity and heritage of the nation.
