Imphal, January 26 : A 37-year old woman who came riding a Honda Activa scooter (MN-1J/7529) was killed after being knocked down by a Tata Sumo (MN-04A/1241) at Patsoi Lamkhai along National Highway 53 (Imphal-Jiri Road) at around 4.30 pm yesterday.
The victim has been identified as Hoinu Mate (37) w/o Thanga Mate of New Keithelmanbi.
She was returning home when the Tata Sumo rammed into her scooter from behind.
She died on the spot.
Originally from Langol Housing complex, Hoinu was an LDC in Bill Section of Medical Directorate and she was staying with her husband at Keithelmanbi.
Patsoi Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and the Tata Sumo seized.
