Five Myanmar nationals arrested in Manipur

Imphal, Jan 17 Five Myanmar nationals have been arrested from a village in Manipur's interior Chandel district for not having valid travel documents, police said today.

Assam Rifles personnel during a search at a village in Chandel district yesterday arrested the five.

The arrested persons have been identified as Mozel Amir Khan (31), Majud Ahmed (25), Jabud Ahemad (23), M D Rafi (25) and M D Tahir (26), the police said.

All of them hailed from Chaktou village in Arakan area of Myanmar.

They were later handed over to Myanmar immigration officials posted near Manipur's border town of Moreh last evening, the police added.
